AGAR

AGAR stands for Annual Governance and Accountability Return

The Parish Council is required to submit this return after the end of each financial year.

The Parish Council's accounts undergo an Internal Audit. The internal audit is carried out by an independent person, appointed by the Parish Council. The Internal Auditor must have experience of working within Local Government, and has knowledge of the legislation, regulations and good practice to be followed by the Parish Council.

Neither Newbold Pacey & Ashorne Parish Council's gross income and gross expenditure exceed £25,000. If the Parish Council meets the quaalifying criteria as set out in the Certificate of Exemption they are able to declare itself "exempt" from sending the completed Annual Governance and Accountability Return to the external auditor for a limited assurance review.
