AGAR stands for Annual Governance and Accountability Return

The Parish Council is required to submit this return after the end of each financial year.

The Parish Council's accounts undergo an Internal Audit. The internal audit is carried out by an independent person, appointed by the Parish Council. The Internal Auditor must have experience of working within Local Government, and has knowledge of the legislation, regulations and good practice to be followed by the Parish Council. 

Newbold Pacey & Ashorne Parish Council's gross income and gross expenditure used not to exceed £25,000. However, with the award of the Solar Farm Community Benefit in January 2025 the Parish Council is now subject to an external audit, once the internal audit has been completed.
